Louisa Foster
Louisa is predominantly a landscape painter but, during lockdown, she experimented with small mixed media collage pieces. These include shops fronts, commissioned homes, pubs, street scenes, city scapes and landscapes.
Louisa studied Fine Art at Newcastle university and has a PGCE from Homerton college Cambridge.
She’s taught in secondary schools and now teaches adults and children in the studio.
Her primary inspiration is her love of the landscape and she’s never without a sketchbook to work en plein air. She uses these as inspiration for larger paintings in oil, acrylic and mixed media.
Louisa identifies with the quote from Camille Pissarro:
“Blessed are those who see beautiful things in humble places where others see nothing”.
