Life drawing
People have been drawing each other for centuries, it’s how we communicated in prehistoric times on cave walls, and still today. It’s an amazing discipline that benefits both professional and amateur artists, improving problem solving skills, better hand-eye coordination, development of observational skills and also helping mindfulness.
Like all disciplines, practice makes perfect and alongside regular tuition, untutored life drawing can support the artist’s development by putting into practice what is being learnt. The more you draw, the better you become, so a balanced approach to tutored and untutored will give artists freedom to explore, experiment, and hone their skills, while receiving expert guidance to provide a frame of reference.
Our untutored classes are held twice a week, on Monday mornings and Friday afternoons. The small group size means our artists soon feel relaxed and part of a community where they can learn from each other and pass on their feedback and tips. They are hosted by experienced practitioners, some of whom are art tutors, on hand to give light touch advice if requested and all the models we hire are professional and are used to posing for untutored classes.
