Lizzie Wheeler
Inspiration for Lizzie’s work comes from the natural world, the creatures who inhabit it, and a desire to capture the moments of wonder that are experienced in wilder places.
She enjoys working in a stylised and figurative way, paying close attention to form and colour. In particular she loves the process of crafting something by hand, and the energy and sense of connection that it brings.
Lizzie comes from a family of crafts-people; potters, engineers, print-makers, painters, carpenters, garden designers, and seamstresses. She grew up immersed in a world of making, and the excitement and joy that it brought her as a child has never left.
She works part-time as a technician at the Oxford Printmakers Co-operative, and is a member of the Oxford Art Society.
