Adult Art Workshops

All our workshops run from 10.00 – 16.00 (unless otherwise stated in the description) at our fully equipped art  studio at Greenhill Farm, Bletchingdon. We provide all materials and refreshments and all you will need to bring is a packed lunch and a willingness to have a go!

Life Drawing - Mondays 5th November to 3rd December 2018 - £85

Life Drawing  - Mondays 18.15 - 20.15 - 5 weeks - £85

An opportunity to work directly from a model with drawing materials to create the structure of the body. Quick sketches will be a way of introducing you to form and as the weeks progress longer poses will be sustained to ensure more detailed studies. The elements of drawing will be explored; line, form, shape, tone, proportion & perspective.

Working en plein air with Louisa Foster

9.30am – 4.00pm - 3 day Landscape Painting Course, run by Louisa Foster, where there will be the opportunity to experience working ‘en plein air’ in the grounds of Blenheim Palace and Greenhill farm. There will also be the chance to create more sustained pieces back in the studio. This provides the opportunity to explore using acrylic, watercolour and oil paints. -  Including all materials, refreshments & pass to Blenheim (subject to weather).

A Working Sketchbook - 10th November 2018 - Rousham - £65

The day will begin at the studio at 9.30am with a briefing on how to use a sketchbook effectively to record your observations. The rest of the day will be spent at Rousham working en plein air until 4pm. A packed lunch will be required for the day.

    Exploring Creativity - A Weekend Retreat of Art, Yoga and Meditation in Oxfordshire

    Friday 27 July - Sunday 29 July.  Early Bird (book by 1 June - £135.  After 1 June - £165

    Well respected local artist and art tutor Lisa Jayne Bloomer and local yoga teacher Elaine Whittaker are collaborating to bring you this weekend of exploring creativity. Using yoga, meditation and sound to bring you into a state of relaxation, your creative instincts are awakened.  You will then be guided to create artwork with materials provided by Lisa Jayne.   

    The yoga practices will be suitable for beginners as well as those with yoga experience. You will not be limited to a single medium for the art sessions, but will be free to explore creative avenues from experiences and observations through a variety of art materials. The use of mixed media will allow you to experiment and explore new creative fields making the weekend suitable for beginners and more advanced students. 

    Whether you are looking for an alternative holiday and would like to develop new skills or to enjoy further exploration of existing skills, this lovey retreat will  be of interest.

    17.00-19.00 - Gentle Yoga followed by Gong Sound Bath (Sound Meditation) 


    08.30-09.30 - Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation

    09.30-10.15 - Breakfast

    10.30-13.00 - Introduction to artwork.  Walk in country with preliminary sketching

    13.00-14.00 - Lunch

    14.00-17.00 - Artwork 

    17.00-18.00 - Gentle Yoga and guided relaxation

    Breakfast and lunch are provided.  Tea/coffee/juices/snacks are provided for you to help yourself to over the weekend.  Please advise of any dietary requirements when booking.  All art materials are provided.  Accommodation is not included, but there are several hotels and B&B very close by (details on request).  Bring a yoga/exercise mat and a blanket for the yoga/meditation sessions.
